The Prevent Cancer Foundation raises awareness of colorectal cancer with silicone Buddy Bracelets in a special periwinkle blue. The bracelets are tied with a string to a tag which explains screening options, tests, and other important information.

After one cycle of trying to juggle 100,000 double-embossed bracelets, string, printed tags, packaging, labeling, and shipping, while still trying to perform the other aspects of her job, the Prevent Cancer project manager asked for our help.

Our solution was to improve the process at every level, reduce overall costs and production times, increase packaging integrity and labeling, and to simply get the job DONE. Specifically, we went from one to four color printing on the tags and specified recycled stock; went from tangled kitchen twine to thicker, no-tangle, high-quality “Chinese silk” string to tie the bracelets to the tags; went from packaging in flimsy cartons to double-boxing in 200-lb test cartons sealed with 10 strips of fiberglass-reinforced tape on each box; and labeled each box with the Prevent Cancer logo and the exact contents for inventory control purposes. And we saved the Foundation about $60,000 over what they had been paying on their first order.
